Hopefully this coming weekend the app will give us February 16, 1991 the first show in regular rotation since September 1, 1990. A shame since so many great songs entered and dropped out of the chart within that time period.

A shame since so many great songs entered and dropped out of the chart within that time period. Yeah I don’t get why they neglect those months. They also neglect most of the months of 1998, and also the second half of 1996.

One of the rare shows when there were 9 debuts in a single week. This is because this is the week where Rick stopped being one week behind AT40 - the week before, his countdown mimicked the February 2 AT40. This ended a 4 & 1/2-year period where he was 1 week behind AT40 (mid-July 1997 to mid-February 2002), with the mid-October 2000 to mid-August 2001 period instead being two weeks behind R&R (due to AT40 using the different chart). Worth also noting, on AT40, February 9 had 6 debuts while February 16 had 4, but one of the 6 from the 9th was a one-week-wonder ("Looking For a Place to Land").

Rick had been 1 week behind Casey's Top 40 week from July 1994 to June 1995. Also: Feb. 9, 2002 was a week when Ed McMann guest hosted for Casey Kasem on AT40.

Rick had been 1 week behind Casey's Top 40 week from July 1994 to June 1995. I didn't extend it back that far since, from late June 1995 to mid-July 1997, Rick was the one with the different chart. Too long to be contiguous or else otherwise contiguous "but for that", IMO. It's not unreasonable that Rick may have been the one week behind from mid-July 1994 all the way to mid-February 2002, with even the 95-to-97 chart data being a week behind comparable data...but without having a firm basis for how he compiled the 95-to-97 chart (I can only offer a guess, that he used some kind of customized "affiliates" chart), we can't be completely certain.

In the bonus hour of this week's 90s show on the app (bonus hour is from 1999), Rick says that Shania Twain asked to get a copy of Rick's show each week (basically putting her on the show's distribution list). I thought that was interesting.

It appears that KDGL TheEagle1069.com is pre-empting retro-Dees this week to air a St Jude Radiothon 2024 cancer drive. The scheduled show was probably 02/27/88.

My records show that the last week on the Dees chart for "Do the Bartman" was Feb 9th, but "State of the World" should be at #25 on this 02/23 chart
