So for the 90s you get 6/12/93 no matter where you go.
Meanwhile, it's about time 2005 came back, even if they're captioned as "June 12" (which is, obviously, inaccurate).
Still waiting on the 80s at this posting.

While we are waiting for the next week's shows to go up on the app...those who listened to 2005 may have noticed a few more missing songs than usual. I think I know why: I think it's the same screw-up that plagued 4/1/2006 back in April, where the "optional extra" segments had just the optional extras and didn't have the countdown songs that were also part of those segments. As a result, even though we SHOULD have gotten #32 "How to Deal", #21 "Boulevard of Broken Dreams", and #11 "Lonely", we didn't get any one of them. (#34 "Okay" he did mention but not play, while #27 "Obsession" didn't even get mentioned - but because that's not next to an "optional" extra, that probably happened either way.)

And...here are next week's shows. All in all, a good selection, I'd say. Dees 2K is captioned as June 21, 2008. BUT: The Sure Shot is Maroon 5 featuring Rihanna, "If I Never See Your Face Again", which means it's June 14. (Incidentally, the chart may not be listed on Reception, but it is on Pulse: pulsemusic.proboards.com/thread/61224/rick-dees-weekly-top-chr - actually, any 2008 week that isn't on Reception IS on Pulse...) The 90s have now updated to June 22, 1996 (SS: Eric Clapton "Change the World"), which has never aired before. And now the 80s have updated to June 17, 1989. This is the third time this has aired - but it's the first time since 2012. Also, Michael Damian co-hosts. (SS: Prince "Batdance") (Sidebar: Had the 90s updated to 1999 instead, then we'd have had three stages of New Kids: At #1 in 1989, gone solo in 1999, and come back in 2008. But the 1999 weekend was on the app last year, so that wasn't likely. )

(I'm guessing Mitch is out tonight...incidentally, next weekend I'll be out on Saturday and possibly Sunday night as well.)

2002 notes: The countdown matches AT40 exactly this week, no songs are switched from the June 14 R&R chart. The Countdown Challenge's backwards hit was billed as a recent #1 - but, of course, it didn't hit #1. (It was "Can't Get You Out of My Head", which stopped at #3.) Rick said Christina Aguilera was #1 a year ago this week...and then proceeds to play not that song, but instead "Come on Over Baby"? Rick's #1s from X this week: 1975 - "Love Will Keep Us Together": Correct, using Billboard 1985 - "Sussudio": A week early...but it fits if you instead use the R&R magazine date, a statistical malady that also plagued AT40 all too often. The correct #1? Why yes, its remake is in the countdown. 1995 - "Water Runs Dry": Why yes, 6/24/95 was our 90s show on the radio this weekend! Regarding "For All Time", AT40 apparently was playing a dance radio mix of that song around this time (though they'd soon switch back to the original slow song). More 1995-2002 connections: "Rainy Dayz" references "Waterfalls", which was #22 in the 1995 countdown. (AT40 would turn a trick like this as well a couple weeks later, as "Waterfalls" was one of America's Top Hits packged with their July 6 show.) Rick played the Matrix Mix of "Complicated", which is a somewhat softer mix of the song (a distinguishing feature is in the beginning, where instead of "la la la la", there's just instrumental). He also played a truncated "I'm Gonna Be Alright". The original Track Masters Remix on the J to tha L-O! remix album features 50 Cent rather than Nas - and its use has to be Premiere's doing, as that's what AT40 also played. But it was cut down here, only including 50's opening rap and not its bridge; the song also ended rather quickly after its second verse/chorus. The reason for cutting it down, though, is almost certainly because Dirty Vegas were the in-studio guest this week, and they did an acoustic performance of "Days Go By", before Rick then played the original song. (J. Lo was #12, Dirty Vegas were #11.)

The 80s show has updated to June 17, 1989.
yesterday I put on the app to hear that 1996 show and to my surprise, it was actually the June 24, 1995 show with “Colors of the Wind” as the first song. It was still a great chart but only a few weeks removed from the last 1995 offering.
