I mentioned elsewhere that in the July 20 show (two weeks prior), they played the DNA remix of "Lily Was Here" - but on this show, they played an extended version of that remix, which ran nearly 6 minutes. (!) Couple other anecdotes: Rick mentions Amy Grant's being ordered to rest her voice due to doctors discovering throat nodules - Shadoe would tell this same story two weeks later on AT40, and expand on it a little. When Rick stated that Bryan Adams set the record for the fastest climb to #1 on the Weekly Top 40 by a solo artist - as it turns out, that wasn't a new record, but to find the only other solo artist + song to do it to this point does take some digging. It turns out to have been George Michael's "Father Figure" in early 1988. (This is to say, Rick's been known to "fudge" chart stats, but I wouldn't necessarily call this a "fudging" - he also states that USA For Africa has the overall record at 4 weeks, even giving their debut position correctly [#30].) And "Lily" isn't the only 6-minute song in this show: He played nearly the full-length "(Everything I Do) I Do it For You", which runs 6:34 - only cutting in just after the 6-minute mark.

TheEagle1069 is playing 09/05/87 today. The sure shot is "It's a Sin" by the Pet Shop Boys. This is the 4th airing of this show in retro-Dees, the most recent being 05/22/2021 on the app.

The app has updated early this week. August 17, 1985 August 19, 1995 August 12, 2000 I was in the middle of listening to the top Summer songs of 1993 when the shows got updated; got all but the last segment which was #1. What was #1? My best guess would have been "Every Breath You Take". Good guess but it was actually End Of The Road by Boyz II Men. Perhaps you could help me fill in the missing songs? www.lionking.org/~shadow/afl/8-14-93.html

Every time you refer to them as "TheEagle1069.com" or "Mostly90s.com" instead of the stations' actual call letters, it makes me think we're dealing with another "Star"-station (of which we must never speak of around here), so to speak.

I know it's just a coincidence, but I hate that two 1990 shows have aired since KZOY moved the show to the overnight period. However, at least I got to hear a couple of 1989 shows on the 80's side before the move.

Seems like later 1989-1990 is a "lost" era; Premiere's series ends in August 1988, and Dees hardly touches 1990. And the later we get in the year, the harder it is to find 1989. IMO, I still think there were a lot of great hits in that "lost" timeframe. It's a shame.

I really enjoyed the 1994 show which I believe was the first time it was offered. Most of it was based on R&R except for #39, 38, 5, 3-1.

KKMK is playing 09/06/2003 tonight. There is no sure shot because it is an all request special. The song played at #40 is "Rock Your Body" by Justin Timberlake. This is the 3rd airing for this show, the first 2 being in 2017 and 2019.

Sept 6, 1986 and (I think Sept 3, 1994) were last played in 2011.
Sept 8, 2001 I think has been played before (don't know when exactly)

Is the 09/03/94 show hosted by Ellen K? The 09/01/90 show is hosted by Bruce Vidal.
Correction: It is the 09/05/87 show that is hosted by Bruce Vidal, not the show from 1990.
