That strikes me as odd that "Press" would be a Sure Shot...the week after it would be used as a random Extra, as it was on 8/2. (And played right after "We Don't Have to Take Our Clothes Off", no less!)

KZOY is playing 08/06/94 this evening. The sure shot is "I'm the Only One" by Melissa Etheridge. This show was last played on 08/11/2018 and this is the 3rd time in retro-Dees. Edit: This show did start about 18 minutes after the top of the hour on KZOY. I forgot to say last week, KZOY rest programs for what I noticed started around 15 min late.. no clue what started it.

Rick Dees retros have been updated: All were new I believe. D2K: Aug 11, 2007, SS Pink - Who Knew 90s: Aug 10, 1991: Hottest Summer Special, no SS, starts with DJ Jazzy Jeff and Fresh Prince - Summertime 80s: Aug 12, 1989, SS Rick Astley - Ain't Too Proud to Beg (I think that song won't be charting..) A really good set of years. I especially enjoyed 1989 since this was the first time I’ve ever heard it. And it’s one of those unusual weeks when none of the songs are holding.

Now they're playing the August 1994 show from last week. ETA: And now they're back to 1992. ETA (9:32 PM ET): And they're back to 1994 again (Prayer For the Dying at #15). ETA (9:50 PM): After playing Wild Night at #13, they go to commercial...and then come back to 1992 (Good Stuff by The B-52s at #12). ETA (10:30 PM): They're still on 1992 and hopefully it stays that way for the rest of the show. ETA (10:46 PM): Nope, back to 1994 (All-4-One's I Swear at #3). I was looking forward to hearing the songs of the summer of 1992, so this glitch the last two hours of the show was real disappointing.

I sent an email to John at KZOY this morning - he's the owner/GM. Here is his response. "I think it is their delivery platform (Syncronicity) - it's a proprietary software that pushes the files to us so we have no control over anything. I've been a vocal opponent for several years - they are finally listening - they told me that we should have a NEW method soon."

That has to be the single craziest (certainly the most schizophrenic) screw-up I've ever seen.

That has to be the single craziest (certainly the most schizophrenic) screw-up I've ever seen. Perhaps, but I've got one that comes close. In 2003, my local station that carried Dees' show began one week by playing the final two segments (the top 3 songs). They continued to play these same segments on loop for over two hours. I emailed the program director, who later told me he personally went to the station during the incident and found the employee on duty sound asleep.

It appears Rick Dees shows have just been updated, just early, I was about to listen to 1991 summer special, and now just switched shows earlier than expected.
80s: Aug 13, 1988 SS: INXS - Never Tear Us Apart 90s: Aug 17, 1996 SS: Tom Petty and Heartbreakers - Walls D2k: Aug 13, 2005 SS Gorillaz - Feel Good Inc.
Also for 2007 last weekend just to note: #32, #21, and #11 song segments are missing after each optional extras

At least these shows seem to be new. And we're now into the side of 1988 we don't get from Casey.
It's interesting to me how so many of the 2000s shows lately have been from 2004-07, a period that we seldom got in D2K's first couple of years.

Yeah, it seems like the shows on the app, are for the most part new. I wouldn’t mind the 1988 show, now that Casey isn’t offering anymore 88 shows.
Just out of curiousity what was the number one song in the 1991 summer special?

KZOY is playing 08/09/86 tonight. The sure shot is "Press" by Paul McCartney. This show aired last year and this is the 5th time airing in retro-Dees. This show appears to be airing again this week. At least the sure shot is still "Press" by Paul McCartney.
