Knock on wood, but I think there’s a strong chance we get the 5/27/89 show for Memorial Day weekend. It was last played 2 years ago and this show has been airing a lot of shows from 2 years ago this year. I think I will send an email to Rick & staff later today and try again to see if we can't get a 1989 show played sometime. It can't hurt to try.

KZOY is playing 05/17/86 this morning. This was last played in 2014 and this is the 5th time it has been aired on retro-Dees. The sure shot is "One Hit to the Body" by the Rolling Stones. 1986 again? All shows have been updated in the app; also playing are May 15, 1993 and May 17, 2003. The 1993 show begins with the Sure Shot "Girl I've Been Hurt" by Canadian reggae/rapper Snow, who also appears in the show for an interview--and 26 years later is back in the top 40 for the first time since then, on Daddy Yankee's "Con Calma" (which also features Katy Perry.)

It is pretty sad that they are playing 05/17/86 this week after playing 05/10/86 last week. But since I skipped last weekend, I'll probably listen to this weeks 86 show since it hasn't been played for 5 years.

The 93 show was last played in 2017 and this is its 5th airing in retro Dees.
The 2003 show has aired once before in 2017.

Also, the first Challenge is a drop of "Buffalo Stance" and #15 is "Buddy X" by Neneh Cherry, whose daughter is now in the current Top 40. And the singer of "Dur Dur D'etre Bebe!" is now 31. At least 5 musicians on this chart have died since this originally aired: Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Prince, George Michael and Attrell Cordes of P.M. Dawn.

I should have remembered that. Casey did a tribute to him and played “Angel Eyes” on AT10 and AT20 when that happened.

I don’t believe this, it’s 1986 again (5/24/86)!!! Seriously, three weeks in a row? Unbelievable.

Well, I did send an email and it didn't work for this week. To be fair to Rick's staff, I didn't specifically request a show for this weekend, I just requested that 1989 be played sometime in the next month as it has been almost a year. But I was hopeful for today.

I knew it was a long shot but I was really hoping we would get the May 27,1989 show, I guess that’s too much to ask, so now we get another 1986 show that aired last year for the third week in a row. Whatever. I’m done.

I guess they really have decided to take 1989 out of their collection of shows to run. That stinks. Now the only place to hear that year is Sirius XM 80s on 8. And YouTube for the commentary minus the songs.

Rick dees retros are a big joke. Why even bother with same thing over and over? I'm so sick of repeats. They should remove the retro shows in future and only left is current shows. It's a big waste!
Already bad enough they completely skipped 1989, but 1986 for 3 weeks??
Thank God I'd rather look forward to listening AT40 80s and 70s (sometimes) instead of Rick dees retro garbage
