Well, since the AT40 Shadoe project is one show away from completion, I figured I'd do my own project on the second Casey era (March 28, 1998 to January 3, 2004). The only problem being I only have the yearend shows from 2000 and 2001 in my collection. So until I can get a hold of some weekly shows (when i get some I'll start in chronological order) I'll post the ones I have as a "trial" of sorts. These will mostly be told in stories, chart facts, briefs, chart history, odd chart facts and LDD summaries.
Top 100 of 2000 Chart Fact – “Dance and Shout” samples “Shake Your Body” by the Jacksons. Story – Lou Bega and his original wardrobe. Chart Fact – Nick Lachey on survey twice in a row. Story – Britney Spears named VH1’s Best Dressed Female. Story – Jennifer Lopez has been busy in 2000 (The Cell, 2 albums) Story – TLC denying rumors of their breakup. Brief – Sister Hazel got their name from a nun at a local church. Story – “Mambo #5” got Lou Bega’s dad’s seal of approval before he died. Story – The Foo Fighters recorded “There is Nothing Left to Lose” on their own without a label. Story – Lara Fabian is a French singer from Belgium who lives in Canada. “I Will Love Again” is her first English single. Chart Fact – “It Wasn’t Me” is Shaggy’s first top 10 hit on the pop chart. Story – BBMak is more of a band than other boy bands. Story – Celine Dion took a break from performing, but still released a greatest hits album. Story – Joe was raised by preachers and grew up singing gospel music. Story – Blaque were discovered by TLC’s Lisa “Left-Eye” Lopes. Story – Sonique started out as a club DJ in east London. Story – “Show Me the Meaning of Being Lonely” is the last song mentor Denniz PoP worked on before he died. Story – Carlos Santana won 9 Grammy awards, one of which was for “Maria, Maria”. Note that this is only a work in progress and might require some trimming. I'll see if I can go back to 1998 if I find some more CDs or audio files. I'm not asking for any help really, but if you want to, charts themselves aren't what I need, as I have them all. This is about stories and teases and the like. Also, don't expect regular updates.

After a delay due to appendicitis, here's 5/9/1998! Show - Casey has a cold this week, which he mentions several times in the show. Story - Black Lab's Paul Durham is a former skateboarder who joined a band after dislocating his shoulder for the fifth time. Brief - Janet on only going by her first name.
