With no mention of the thursday broadcast on the xm website, will it even air at all on thursday? I'll be hoping.

That was a great show. Nice diversity in the countdown. From a time when AT40 was humming on all cylinders.

Its the very loud, obnoxious vocal minority that has hijacked the whole service and turned the decades channels in large part to a jukebox.

The Problem is: If beeing so much involved with a subject or lifestyle, you get to a point where you didn't even recognize YOU are the minority ..... not the others. I have experienced things like that several times in my life. Including when it belongs to the shows. WE out HERE are the minority when it comes the hard way. Of course the biggest group of people are the ones who didn't care, but those are not helpful to us, as they are not to the others. We don't have to forget: XM is a pay service. People pay for it, because they want music presented in a different way, not like on ordinary radio. But American Top 40 is Radio and that's i.m.o. the fact why people are not like it on XM.

People pay for it, because they want music presented in a different way, not like on ordinary radio. But American Top 40 is Radio and that's i.m.o. the fact why people are not like it on XM. Radioman, I and we who have XM are not the minority here now. Maybe we are in the minority who absolutely love the show being on, but not in the minority about whether it belongs or not. You mentioned the people who don't care about it, true and they are the ones who will roll with the flow like me when it comes to things I have no passion for one way or the other. Example: The WNBA, I don't care one iota about the league, I don't watch, I don't read the stats, I don't watch Sportscenter and see highlights, I really do not care about the league whatsoever. However, a minority of people do, and it is broadcast on two or three channels. Some of which actually affect programming I would watch if it wasn't there I think, but I don't call ESPN and complain about it. It isn't a big enough deal to me to do so. Now, judging by the reaction on the xmfan and xm411 message boards, the reaction to the show has been very, very positive. The last time AT40 ran on XM most of the boards were out for blood. So, the fact that no one seems to be angered by the shows airings on the message board based on that, is a good sign. There are also a group of people (I believe more than the ones who love AT40) who are just happy to have something on the decades channels they haven't had in awhile; PERSONALITY! They feel like I do in that if I want a jukebox that plays 80's music I can buy an Ipod and cut off your sub! Mix those in with the people who don't really care one way or the other what's on because as long as it doesn't become overkill they are ok with minor changes in programming to make others happy, and all of a sudden; the pro AT40 group is in the majority. This is the reason I referred to "them" as the minority, they hijacked the service by convincing the PD's no one wants talking or anything remotely resembling AM/FM Radio on the service because they were the ones writing the "extremely vicious" emails. Like we have said many many times before, it's the group that likes some elements of regular radio, or likes that Sattelite radio could be something similar to Sattelite TV in that it transmits some of it's own content, but also transmits many of the things we saw on cable, and the local channels from other markets; it's us who get nothing we want and WE ALSO pay $12.95 a month. And it seems no matter how much WE complain, we get nothing in return for it. The fact that AT40 is run twice on the 80's station is the first "victory" we have ever gotten.

Simple issue the first time: overkill. For AT40 fanatics, every day was nice...but even for us, hearing the same shows over and over got old. For people who weren't fans of AT40, or just wanted music, or perhaps just didn't want AT40 on a daily basis, it was overkill. This time, they got it right...and while I wish the weekday airings started a little earlier, I'm not complaining.
