Next week's show is from 1982, probably June 19.
Is it me or are Sirius XM and Premiere's countdown schedules starting to look awfully similar? Last week both did 1980; this week it's 1986 from the VJ's and 1982 from Casey, with the same two years reversed next week. And we got AT40 from 1978 from SXM last week and Premiere this week.

I was personally hoping they would switch that and 1984 up but we do get to hear the one-week wonder "Stone Cold".
Oh no, we're going to have to sit through that 10-minute long version of "Do I Do", won't we?

It makes that debut at #27, and the song seems to go on and on and on and on! I think it might be the longest song played on any VJ countdown.

I came here to say the same thing. Don't forget too that we recently got 5/25/85 from both shows as well (on different weekends), and both shows featured 1988 charts in May. I'm not sure what happened, as if you go back to January and February, we were seeing a large variety of year selections between the two shows. Oh no, we're going to have to sit through that 10-minute long version of "Do I Do", won't we? Will it be preceded by an announcement that they definitely *won't* be playing the long version?

Big 40 has kept to mostly the same exact pattern all year so far, so I'd say the fault has to lie with Premiere - unless one considers that rigidly keeping to Big 40's order pattern is itself a fault (not unreasonable, if you ask me).

I think 1984 is next, and unless something changes, we'll probably get stuck with another repeat from last year.

At least if they continue to cycle through the years in the same order, the next 1986 show would not be a repeat from last year. Looking back, I see they took a weird detour with 1986 last year. After 6/14, they waited 13 weeks to feature that year again but then only 7 weeks until it came up again. So we could get at least one chart that's a bit different.

They actually played the single version of "Do I Do" this time, and yes Mark did mention it was the single version at the end.

Did Nina spill the beans on next week's not AT40 when she said they were doing 1987?

Did Nina spill the beans on next week's not AT40 when she said they were doing 1987? If that's the case, better than them doing 1984.

Did Nina spill the beans on next week's not AT40 when she said they were doing 1987? If that's the case, better than them doing 1984. Indeed, for two reasons: 1) It opens up order-switching again for years other than 1985 and 1988, 2) In that vein, it sets up 6/30/84 (a week not yet done) to close out June. As to what 1987 would be - again, assuming this is correct - could be either 6/20 or 6/27. Sort of leaning toward it being 6/27 as their predilection has been to go for the farther date as of late - and this would be an instance where that is better, as while both weeks have been done, 6/20 was in 2018 while 6/27 was in 2014.

Mine.Worse, we should just pencil in 7/4/87 to follow right now.

Unless they decide to do 6/30 next week, then I guess we're stuck with these. The only upside is that at least 6/23 hasn't been beaten to the ground. Regardless, going from 9 straight weeks of new charts to playing two or three repeats from last year is quite the drop.
