Hi everyone!
Does anyone know if any of the syndicated countdowns (maybe Rick Dees or AT 40) will be doing a top 100 songs of the 00's this year? Typically, they have done the biggest hits of the 80's and 90's. Does anyone know anything about this?
thanks!

Rick already has, on July 4 and July 11, 2009. In fact, that show (and many others from the 1980s and 1990s) can be downloaded from his site (http://www.rick.com)-I just checked and it's a two part special (a pop or CHR version and a HAC version-both are there).
As for the end of this year, I don't know as Rick (WT40) and Ryan (AT40) don't seem to give advance notice the way Casey would have by this time. Neither of their sites has any hints of a decade end or year end show there. I'm sure that whenever someone else who uses these boards finds out, they will post here. Please do the same if you find out. Good luck in your search

Ryan will be doing a "top songs of the decade" show for AT40 but it's a single show so no top 100.
There will be a top 100 of this year. The top songs of the decade show is after that.

So is the top 100 of 2009 going to be one eight-hour block, or split into two as in recent years? Just wondered, because a two-part year end countdown plus a decade show would mean three weeks away from the regular weekly countdown, something that hasn't been done before to my knowledge.

I would have loved to have heard Casey do an American Top 20 decade end special this year. I think Casey would have done a 2 part Top 60 and then a Top 30 of the Decade for AT20. I would have loved to have heard it... oh well.

I don't know Brett...At the end of 1999, AT40 and both AT20s played condensed year end shows (Top 40 for AT40 and Top 30 for both AT20s) and a decade end show the following week (Top 40 for AT40 and Top 30 for both AT20s). Since that was the end of the century, a second special was offered-the Y2K show. I have a feeling that if Casey were still on the air, AT20 and AT10 would have broadcast a Top 30 year end special one week and a Top 30 decade end special the following week.

And answering my own question, apparently there will be three weeks of year/decade retrospective AT40s. The next two weeks will be the top 100 of 2009, and then the top 40 of 2000-09. January 9-10, 2010, will be the next regular countdown.

And by the way, Rick Dees announced on his show this past weekend that this coming week's show would be the top *40* of 2009. No mention of decade-end stuff, but I'd imagine that's the following weekend. Anyone remember what he did at the end of 1999?
