It's 7:30 p.m. Sunday night in Los Angeles. The 8/4/73 show is just wrapping up #3 Live and let die is on. The 80s already wrapped up.
I will start this new post as as what could be the final in a trilogy of threads: XM Coming --- XM Here ---- and now XM Marathon Over; Here are my thoughts:
There is a big difference to listening to AT 40 "On the air". I don't know why, but there is a certain excitement.
The goofs on some of the shows were tolerable. If you look at Alfred's list, for the most part, the marathon was a success.
BTW thanks for compiling the list Alfred.
Rob added this weekend to key dates in AT 40 history, take a look
I hope that the weekly shows will be different and not the same shows we heard this weekend
I hope that there will be more marathon weekends like Labor day, Thanksgiving etc (Like twilight Zone Marathons)
Finally, It would be great if XM starts an AT40 channel playing the shows from the 70s 80s and 90s.
Well, the last 70s show is now over, Casey was wrong on the prediction that week. ---
The Marathon I though was ending is now playing a very special countdown ---- The 50 hits of the 70s. I hope you guys did not turn off your recorders early, what a treat.

Now the marathon is finally over, and it was terrific. I agree with Pasha, I hope there will be different shows at the regular times. Personally I would like to hear shows from 75 and 76, my favorite years in music. But I'm not complaining, the weekend was like a time warp for me back to my childhood and early adult years. Thanks XM and keep up the good work!!!

Trade: If anyone has the shows from the marathon from 7pm Friday to 10:30 am Saturday, I have those from 10:30am Sat to the end on Sunday nite. Will trade you what I have for what you have that I don't.
Also have a DVD full of XM 80s shows from Casey Kasemas in 2003.
Anyone interested, pls send me a private message
