I personally wonder if Casey ever mentioned WNBC in his regular affiliate mentions after ABC purchased Watermark back in 1982.
The only time I can recall ever hearing WNBC mentioned was when Casey welcomed it on the 7/12/1980 show.

Just for clarification, I assume those are the US stations that currently carry AT40: the 70s and AT40: the 80s. Do you know how up-to-date that list is?

I am looking for a list of major market stations that carried the countdown in the 70's & early 80's. As part of this, I wanted to find out the order of stations that carried the show in Los Angeles. I think that it stayed on the 102.7 frequency the entire time (first KKDJ, then KIIS AM&FM). Anyone have the answers? Which station in YOUR major market carried the show. In San Francisco-San Jose: KNEW (October 1971 to October 1972, approx.) KSJO (August 1974 to September 1975, approx.) KYA (July 1975 to July 1981) KCBS-FM (July 1981 to January 1982) K101-FM (June 1982 to June 1984) KITS (August 1984, approx., to May 1987) KWSS (mid-1989 to early 1991, approx.)

In Tampa as far as I know the carriers are (please help me out with possible dates): WILC, WLCY/WYNF, WRBQ. Expanding, I think WFLZ carried Casey's Top 40 for much of its' run and also has aired AT40 since it's 1998 return. WRBQ currently airs AT40: The '70s.

Just heard a clip mentioning our station on - www.amandfmmorningside.com/wpgc_casey_kasem.html from 19th July 1975. He calls the station 1 ex ex not one Double X - quite funny really and the way he says Whakatane - wok ah tah ne. Nice one Casey. Has anyone heard or remember hearing the overseas stations being mentioned. eg NEW ZEALAND stations: One Double X (1XX) - Whakatane, Bay Of Plenty or 4XO - Dunedin would have been in the 70s mostly. I have a clip of Casey welcoming 4XO in Dunedin to the AT40 Family of stations (not sure what year - early 70's and definately AFTER November 1971, as that's when 4XO when on air. 1XX went on air at the end of June 1971). How do I insert the clip on these boards its about 20 seconds only. Radio 1XX's Website - www.1xx.co.nzThe site linked here is a tribute to WPGC, a Washington DC-area station which was a charter member of the AT40 family; the station, on both AM and FM, was one of seven stations that aired the show on Day One in July 1970, and continued to do so until 1983. There are at least 45 mentions of WPGC on AT40 broadcasts of the 70s and early 80s. In 1983, the show moved to WRQX (then Q107, since 1990 Mix 107), where it ran until 1991, when it was dropped presumably because the station was then moving to a Hot AC format, something that happened to a lot of ex-top 40 stations in the early 1990s. Meanwhile, 105.1 WAVA ran Casey's Top 40 for three years, from 1989 to abandoning the top 40 format in 1992. I don't recall which, if any, DC-area stations ran AT40 during Casey's second run (1998-2003), as both my residence here and CHR radio listening were irregular during that period, though I occasionally ran across it elsewhere. DC's WIHT-FM (Hot 99.5) has run AT40 during the Ryan Seacrest era.

WDRC-FM in Hartford,CT ran "AT40" from 2/13/71 to 9/13/86-The station subsequently flipped to an oldies/greatest hits format-I'm tempted to e-mail current PD Grahame Winters to see if she would consider running either the 70's or 80's show.

Just listened to the 4/30/83 AT40 today at work, and Casey welcomes WRBQ as a new member of the AT40 family. Not sure which FM station in Tampa may have carried AT40 immediately prior to that, as I'm pretty sure WYNF had already flipped to album rock by that point, and I don't recall hearing any other Tampa welcomes between 1980 and 1983 (I'm currently listening to each show in chronological order).

Funny. The listening directory from 1982 had WRBQ listed.

Funny. The listening directory from 1982 had WRBQ listed. That's odd... so either the on-air welcome was really late, or Q105 carried the show earlier and then lost it for a brief period of time.
