I am really enjoying the Top 40 Disco Hits Special, but following with the Cue Sheet, "The Twist" by Chubby Checker was left out of Hour 2.

Note that just 5 days after this 'Top 40 Hits of the Disco Era' aired, on July 12th 1979, the infamous 'Disco Demolition Night' took place in Comiskey Park in Chicago. Casey even mentions at one point in this countdown that 'not everyone loves disco'. Indeed, its popularity significantly declined in late '79 and '80. You can read all about it at its Wikipedia article here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Disco_Demolition_Night--DDA

(July 2nd, 1980) The plane flew low enough to clip the radio transmitter tower on a skyscraper of Chicago's disco station WZAZ, that had just broadcast, "Where disco lives forever".

I thought “Yeah and within six months of this show, disco was dead”.

Steve Dahl who did the morning show on Chicago's WLUP-FM was the mastermind of the "Disco Demolition" which took place at Comiskey Park on 7/12/79-He subsequently recorded an amusing parody of Rod Stewart's "Do You Think I'm Sexy?"-It was called "Do You Think I'm Disco?"-It peaked at # 58 in the fall of 1979.

Wheel of Casey this week: July 15, 1978. (Which would have made a good choice for this or next weekend; we can now probably count it out.)
I think this is the infamous show that, according to lore, *should* have had Baker Street at #1, but instead kept Shadow Dancing there after Bill Wardlow bowed to pressure from RSO Records and Andy Gibb’s management.

The show that is airing on SiriusXM is 1-15-77, which was probably supposed to be the Wheel show from Thursday. As noted the Wheel show would've been a good choice for this week end--probably loaded into the computer incorrectly.

?? Will they play 1970 for the remainder of the weekend? I'm guessing that 1/15/77 was a mistake, perhaps they got it mixed up with the July 1978 show that aired Thursday night.
Though if they wanted to play 1977, they could air the 7/16/77 show that Bruce Philip Miller guest hosted now that they play such AT40s without a special reason for doing so. Last month they did play BPM's other guest hosting appearance from 1979.

I wish. Would love to hear the second show (w/e 7/18/70, aired 7/11-7/12) with the Ken Martin's 're-creation' of the apparently forever lost third hour.

The debut show (7/11/70 chart) would have fit this weekend. The second show, with its Ken Martin-recreated third hour, may not be legally playable by Sirius XM, or anyone other than Premiere.
