Terrestrial radio is featuring the 2/23/80 show this weekend-Could this be a coincidence?

SXM is playing February 18 1978 today (Didn't SXM or Premiere recently play this?) Casey made a mistake on this episode when he referred to Heatwave as a foreign act. I thought they had some American-born members in that group. In that sense, they qualify as more of a "mixed nationality" act, neither entirely American nor entirely foreign.

I don't know if anyone was listening to the 80s countdown today, but...
I heard them playing Kenny Loggin's "Heart to Heart" at #15 - wasn't that song from 1983?
Today's countdown is from February 27, 1988.....hmmmmm

Now they've just seemingly given up on getting back on track and now random 80s hits are playing...

Was it just the song, or were Casey's intro/outro pulled from 1983 also?

I thought I was going crazy listening to the countdown - I'm halfway listening while watching a basketball game - they played #2, and then never played #1 - what the heck happened?

It included Casey's intro and outro to the song - he said "spending it's 3rd week at #15 is Kenny Loggin's - 10th week on the survey - and this was after playing Endless Summer Nights at #15 - then #14 (I Found Someone by Cher) never got played, and they played #13 (Pump Up the Volume by MARS) - I pretty much gave up trying to record the program once they did this - and the lack of playing #1 just added icing to the cake!

I tried to record 1/25/86 when they aired it but they screwed it up cutting songs off before they were over. I gave up on that show after that. I did get a good recording of 2/12/83 though.

I was recording the show as well. I just emailed them and asked them why they didn't play the #1 song. I hope they correct the show when it is replayed Sunday night.

I noticed that too when I downloaded the show from radioinsight. At first I thought somethng happened when the person recorded it.

Sirius XM seems to be trying to cut costs by setting things to play automatically using a set time period. They probably set the prerecorded DJ shift to start at a given time despite the fact that AT40 hadn't completed. There was probably nobody there to monitor the computer to stop such problems.
If Sirius XM can't do any better than that, they need to go out of business and the recent loan probably went into the pockets of its CEO for undeserved bonus.

Obama definitely would not approve of this.
