Agreed. I'm certain that Shannon presents the AT40 programs to the customers with all of the jingles and themes intact. And I would think that the SXM staff would have more pressing things to do than to edit 3 to 5 minutes worth of material weekly which, in my opinion, does nothing to slow the pacing of the shows. I mean, it's not like they are selling the time to advertisers.

It doesn't make sense that XM-Sirius is making these edits-Totally unnecessary!-I wish Premiere would consider airing the four-hour shows that originally ran from 10/7/78 to 12/22/79-Do they own those shows?

Yes! Good one. Right in the middle of a 3-month gap in my collection.
Now hopefully they won't do anything unsavory to it like 7 has been doing.

1/14/1984 is the featured '80s countdown this week. Somebody at XM made a mistake somewhere with that countdown; they're playing the January 14, 1984 show (which Premiere ran last week), but the titles and artists appearing on my radio are from the JULY 14, 1984 countdown! As to the 70s countdown, this was the first time I've ever heard a regular show from between Oct. 1978 and Jan. 1980 (since Premiere doesn't run them, I just got a satellite subscription, and I'm too young to have heard them originally.) Though hearing them as they were originally--no edits--would of course have been better still.

Gang: Last night, at about 9:40 P.M. MST, I heard the DJ on the 70s on 7 say that this week's AT40 program wil be from this week in 1971. Can we assume that it will be the 1/23/71 show?

Whichever week it is, I wonder which (if any) extras will be included, as early 1971 shows had a lot of extra past hits, and often also a non-single track from the week's top album. For all the edits in the 1979 show that ran last week, they did still manage to squeeze all the songs that ran in the original four hour show into three, including the Archive feature (#1's of the 1970s) and the LDD's.

Is anyone else having trouble getting XM to work today - I keep getting a recording saying "we're sorry, the XM radio online channel you've requested is not available - please log out and try again" - I've tried several channels with the same message.
This happened to me once before a few months ago.
By the way, I can see the date of the countdown that they're playing - 1/23/71

I am getting the same message when I try to listen to XM Online today, so I'm glad to know it's not just me...I'm also glad today's show is from 1971. I'm more of a fan of 1974 and beyond, so I don't mind missing 1971.

It's not working for me, I cannot hear any XM channels at all. I can see in the display that they are playing 1/23/71. For those that can hear the show, are the edits still there?

Yes. Unfortunately, no one at SXM considered our emails as this week's show (1/23/71) is butchered--no teases, no split-logos, and no themes.

Hmmm....I'm still not getting it - I'll try again later.
I'm glad they repeat the shows on Sunday mornings.
