Thanks skuncle. I listen to four countdown shows--three on XM and one on CKWW (AT 40 the 70's). I know ahead of time for three of the four and I guess I just have to wait until Saturday at Noon.

Once again another example of SXM's "editing skills." They left Casey's teaser for the AT40 Book of Records (on Fats Domino) intact . . . then cut out the piece on Fats Domino.

At least Fats got his due in the 1971 show played by Premiere, in which Casey answered a letter about the first million selling record ever. It was Gene Austin's 1927 recording of "My Blue Heaven", which was a hit for Fats in 1956. Casey then played Fats' version and Premiere left it in its original place.

This weeks show also seems to be lightly edited. Bumpers are there and the full whatever happened to segment along with the song bit from the 50's was left in.

Yes, I appreciate a little less editing on this week's show. They even left in Casey's error of misidentifying Ray Stevens two chart toppers. During the introduction to Misty (Ray's current hit) Casey says Ray had two #1's--The Streak (correct) and Ahab the Arab (oops--#5 in 1962). The funny thing is that Everything Is Beautiful (#1 in 1970) was correctly identified as a #1 by Casey in the 1970 year end special. Maybe whoever wrote that intro card for Casey wasn't part of the AT40 staff in 1970.

And last week's 1971 show included all the original stories, questions, and extras--four of them, of which three were from the 1950s or 60s and so might have been expected to have been cut.

May 24, 1975 this week. (A show never played by Premiere, BTW.) And now played multiple times by SXM (I think they last played it in 2009?).
