I guess SXM's "AT40 intern" thinks Aug 29, 1970 is 9/29/70 because that's what's posted on the display.

September 10, 1977 this week.
This comes just three weeks after SXM last featured 1977, and over four months since Premiere last did so. Feast and famine?

Here are some observations about the charts of September of '77. Possible "hand positioning" of songs? www.at40fg.proboards.com/thread/2089/chart-manipulations?page=4

It looks like they are going a little heavy with the 1977 shows now, so that they can avoid playing any of the upcoming shows that feature "You Light Up My Life."

If AT40 is attempting to avoid "You Light Up My Life," they are really going to have a draught until February 11th, as "YLUML" is on the Top 40 until the week ending 2-4-78. Interesting how "YLUML" and "How Deep is Your Love," remained in the Top 40 for months during the Fall of 1977 and Winter of 1978.

I guess SXM's "AT40 intern" thinks Aug 29, 1970 is 9/29/70 because that's what's posted on the display. Some of this week's displays read "AT40 9/10/17". No, you'll need to go elsewhere and listen to Ryan Seacrest for that. And while SXM has gone fairly heavy on 1977 lately in contrast to Premiere (Sirius XM has played that year four times since it was last a Premiere A show), I don't think that they're trying to avoid "You Light Up My Life" or anything else. If they're playing a full countdown fully capturing the top 40 of the period, you can't reasonably try to ignore a 10 week #1, whatever current opinion of it might be.

Kudos also to Casey & Co. for bringing in "You Made Me Believe In Magic" at a crisp 130 seconds!
If they had followed my plan:
All songs between 21 and 40, that are on their way down the charts (and off the countdown) should be cut to 2 minutes or less.
They may have been able to avoid lengthening the shows to 4 hours!
But, then again, we would have never heard Casey's 5-minute story about how the Romans built bath houses in England that are still in use today! Haha!

Casey mentioned that Mike McDonald was singing lead on "Depending On You". It was Patrick Simmons. Yes, Casey referred to him as Mike, not Michael McDonald.

September 27, 1975 now playing.
SXM seems to be heavy on later 1970s shows lately. Over the last six weeks each year from 1975-79 has been featured; the one exception was 1970, which has been featured in a regularly scheduled show only once this year. By contrast, 1971 and 1972 haven't been played in about three months, during which time we've heard 1976, 78, and 79 twice each and 1977 three times.

That is odd, they usually bounced back and forth. Last week was 1979, it used be that 1970 or '71 would follow.
