In a rare move SXM kept in the snippet of He Will Break Your Heart prior to playing He Don't Love You (Like I Love You). My guess is the edit would have to have been too sloppy.

Tune in earlier tomorrow to hear the snippet of the Everly Brothers' "When Will I Be Loved" before playing Linda Ronstadt's version. And at least two stories about death!

Tune in earlier tomorrow to hear the snippet of the Everly Brothers' "When Will I Be Loved" before playing Linda Ronstadt's version. And at least two stories about death! They could have chosen an even more morbid spring 1975 show, with the story about the "suicide song" "Gloomy Sunday" leading into Hot Chocolate's "Emma". On a more positive note, this week's show includes one of my favourite stories in which Casey recalled his personal past playing drums in a high school band that included Donald Byrd on trumpet (leading into the Blackbyrds' "Walking in Rhythm.") Of note: the last two weeks SXM has let the closing music play out fully (they usually have cut it off as soon as Casey stopped talking.) It would be nice if they played out the full "Shuckatoom" theme the next time they air a 1976-79 show that ended with it.

Wow keeping in the snippets of the older hits, but also leaving in the teases. Whoever does the edits must not have realized they are supposed to take out nearly everything except the countdown songs!!! ?

Oops, that left in commercial was clearly in error, they are repeating the Tony Orlando & Dawn song. See how many errors there are still ahead.

This is the first show in AT 40 history where the week end and the week ending date synced up-prior to this show the countdown actually preceded the printed copy that appeared in Billboard. In other words, if you listened to AT 40 you knew what the Top 40 singles of the week would be in the next week's issue of Billboard.

Any guesses on today's XM show? The longest drought year is 1976, which they haven't aired since February. I predict 5/15/76.

I'm just curious, but where is 1974? It seems to be getting the shaft lately since April... Next weekend; 1974!! Seeing his posting of the 80s show most weeks reminded me that he used to do that for another series...until they stopped announcing it ahead of time!
