It was really bad after #8 - when a jingle cuts into Casey saying "As the countdown continues" and then changes into the "American Top 40 jingle" instantly.
Which is a good thing as these are starting to annoy me.
Maybe this is the reason for the cut. I wouldn't be surprised if their playback system crossfading gives them problems so that they are required to have something between the two jingles otherwise they would fade into each other...
Anyone remember if they played the jingle sequence without interruption on the 80s channel earlier?

When they orignally aired the shows in 2003, they had nothing between the jingles, except during what would have been the half hour side changes. I really don't think the 80's channel likes to run the show based on the way they treat it as opposed to the 70's channel.

I agree bdpop, the 70s shows for the most part sound much better. I have noticed the 80s channel doesn't run the shows they say they will run on the web site. They had 1/1/80 last week, but there was no show dated 1/1/80 so I knew that wasn't right. They ended up airing 8/6/88. While this is a historic show, that makes about 3 or 4 times they have played it.

They did, including in this "run" of AT40.

At least next week, there will be a show that I don't recall ever hearing on XM before... that being 2/6/82. Looking forward to hearing it ;D

I noticed on today's, there were new Casey ID's that had him saying that "you're listening to AT40 from this week in 1986 on XM 80's" or something like that. Nice little touch that reminds me of AT40 Flashback Next week it's back to the reruns though... the show from this time in 1980 that they aired last year

Tonight, XM fungused up the AT40 broadcast. After #19 (Neil Diamond), they then skipped to the 1986 show they did last week right in at #12 (Gloria Estefan). This reminds me of when WMMX messed up some of those AT40 Flashback shows.

Does anyone know which show will be played this Sunday (Mar 4) on XM 8?

The following thursday has an encore of 1985 March 30th. This show should run this sunday (even if it's not in the XM highlights list).

Quoting myself: This show was broadcast indeed. Today the 80s channel even played the end music in full. So we got to hear the sponsor message after Casey's sign-off. For those who missed it: This show was sponsored by SPAM. Maybe the sponsor message at the end of the show is the reason why XM normally cuts it off.

Yes, that was a really nice surprise... and really enjoyable expirience! We'd appreciate more of that XM 80's on 8!

I'm a little confused sometimes at the show date that XM uses when they broadcast some of the early 1970s shows. This past week, they said that they were broadcasting the show from 4/3/71. At the end of the show, Casey stated it was the chart from 3/27/71 and on Walt Bailey's Website, this countdown was also listed as 3/27/71. As I build my collection, should I note this as the show from 3/27/71 or 4/3/71?

In the early days of AT40, the chart was a week ahead of when the show aired. The show they are running tonight on 70s at 7 uses the chart from 4/3/71. However that show was broadcast the week of 3/27. This continued until 5/8/71, and from that point on, the chart date and show date are the same.
