I am almost certain that AT40 on XM will go with 1970 for the 4th of July weekend. This is the same year that Casey Kasem's show is doing that weekend. I think it’s already been confirmed on air that they are indeed airing the original show.

Well, no reason then for Sirius XM subscribers to seek out Premiere's B show, unless it's for optional extras or something. Odd that they'd pick this show, though, since just three weeks ago they played 6/5/76. And just six weeks later (August 7, 1976) Sonny Melendrez guest hosted AT40. I’m so confused, what does Sonny Melendrez have to do with anything (other than being a guest host)? Why would his guest hosting a show play into airing this week’s show?? It doesn’t have anything to do with the scheduling. I was just pointing the fact out.

July 4-5, 2020: Now lets go back to this week in 1970 - , July 4, 1970 (Note: There was no guest intro, just an SXM announcer that it was a replay of the first show for the 50th anniversary. Also, the date shown is July 4, 1970 even though it’s actually the July 11, 1970 chart).

After the #37 song by Crabby Appleton, they jumped ahead to 32 and 31 ("It's All In The Game" and "Save The Country", respectively). Then they backtracked and played 36-33, then jumped back to #30 and stayed in order from then on. You would think that for this iconic anniversary and countdown, SiriusXM would refrain from making any egregious errors. You would think.

I wonder if these 'mistakes' are on purpose to discourage people from recording the shows (and possibly posting them and sharing them).

Perhaps you are right, except the screwed up edits have been going on since XM radio first started airing the shows (glance back at the beginning of this thread topic).

Nothing like getting another chance to listen to last week's B show that Premiere offered and some stations ran last week. Thanks, SiriusXM.

Wow! They left in the two oldies from the 1960's. I hope this trend of very little editing continues. Thanks.

They just announced they'd be playing a show from 1973 this weekend, which should be the July 28 show.
This is by far the earliest I have ever heard them promote an upcoming show. They have also been actively promoting the show in general for several weeks now.
Could something have happened that made them finally realize just how popular this show is?

Assuming that's true, this is their first 1973 show in four months. Since then we've had 1974, 1975, and 1976 twice each, and 1971 and 1978 thrice.
