For some strange reason the segment with #33--Uptown Festival by Shalamar/ #32--Whodunit by Tavares got skipped (maybe the computer didn't like those songs). This kept Casey from giving out the information regarding the Jackson 5 starting off their career with 5 #1's on the Soul chart. Shortly, afterwards at #29--the wrong version of Got To Give It Up by Marvin Gaye was played (part 2--shoulda been Part 1). I think this was a mistake by the engineer that put the show together way back in 1977 (I remember thinking this was odd back when I first heard the show some 40 plus years ago). "Uptown Festival" and "Whodunit" were played out of order, between #36 ("Dreams") and #35 ("Cherry Baby"). This is the second time in the last three weeks that they've aired a segment in the wrong place.

When "Got to Give it Up (Part 1)" debuted on 4/23/77 Casey played the wrong side, and also played the wrong side on 4/30/77 (as you noted), then finally played Part 1 on 5/7/77, but went right back to playing Part 2 in the shows from 5/14/77 & 5/21/77. Then on 5/28/77 he again played the correct version and continued to play Part 1 on the subsequent shows.

Has Sirius XM gone back to previewing the weekend's AT40 years? Somebody in the AT40 70s Facebook group noted that they ran a promo last weekend featuring a clip of Casey and then a SXM voice saying that the weekend broadcast was from 1972, which it was. It was then stated that another, similar promo ran today. (Possible spoiler: the new announcement says "from this week in 1975.")

Perhaps, and while I appreciate the less heavy handed editing lately, it would be nice if they run the show in the correct order (no segments or songs out of place).

Interesting...the creator of this particular thread (and others) has been deleted from the site. Curious as to why since he had been a member since 2004 or something like that.

Do we know who the thread creator was? Too bad nobody quoted anything, not that I saw. I remember jcaragon (?) was a long-time poster here who deleted his own account a couple of years ago or so.

A lot of his most recent replies have been deleted as well, especially in the "What show are you listening to right now?" thread!

This is puzzling; I wonder what happened. I've had several pleasant interactions with him on and off of here. I actually found a somewhat recent post of mine where I quoted him.

70s on 7 ran a bumper tonight promoting this weekend's countdown. It'll be 1975, presumably for the week of May 17.

I looked on the Wayback Machine on archive.org and saw that the poster was paul. Yeah it was paul. I believe he was literally one of the first members of these boards -- a member since 2004. And it hadn't been that long ago since he had posted. Interesting that he decided to full out delete his account instead of just going dormant. Hope all is OK with paul...

I looked on the Wayback Machine on archive.org and saw that the poster was paul. Just like the walrus in the song "Glass Onion," from the Beatles' White Album.
