Jan 25/26, 2020: Now lets go back to this week in 1975 - Gloria Gaynor. January 25, 1975 ^^ It's rare that a song is looped for play on AT40 but I heard a first today... a story was looped! Casey was just about finished telling a story of John Denver's dad flying military operations when all of the sudden, the story starts over. I heard it during the 6am and noon airings. It was like deja vu all over again! I know some posters here don't care for SiriusM's airings of the 70s shows but I much prefer to hear a commercial-free show clocking in between 2 1/4 and 2 1/2 hours versus a commercial-padded show at 3 hours. I'm fine with an occasional edit of a tune... apologies to the purists out there.

I'll have to listen to that show. I happen to have a copy of the original show, which didn't have any network commercials (those started in spring 1982, outside of the very early shows).

I heard it today, too, and suspect that the loop was caused by SXM's masterful editing skills. They cut a bunch out of today's show but left the two LQ's in the show. They usually cut out all listener questions.

The AT40 show from 1-31-1976 featured two extra's (Sounds Of Silence by Simon & Garfunkel/We Can Work It Out-Beatles)--both of which were identified as the number one songs of 10 years ago (in separate hours). Of course,SiriusXM cuts both songs out of the show. Both songs were #1 during the month of January, 1966--which may have confused the poor schmuck who typed up Casey's voice over cards and led to the confusion of saying that both songs were #1 10 years ago this week.

^^Both Sirius XM's 70s and 80s countdowns this weekend are from the same years as Premiere gives us next week, from a week or two later.

Good to hear less edits on this AT40 via my satellite radio. Maybe we should let them know that this is what we are paying for!

Mar 14-15, 2020: Now lets go back to this week in 1977 - Steve Porcaro, March 12, 1977 This of course is the show where Casey had to retroactively correct the positions of three of the songs that he had already played, due to some last minute chart changes made by Billboard that AT40 apparently didn't find out about until after it was too late to re-record the relevant segments. Sirius XM left in the segments where Casey explains this. This is the second week in a row that SXM's show is from the same year, though not the same week, as Premiere's show from the following week.
