Hey guys! I started up a new project about two weeks ago. I've been making personal charts of current music for about ten years now, and I decided that I wanted to go back and create what could have been my weekly music surveys had I been alive in the 80's (I was born in 1990.) I made a blog to follow the charts, and I've been updating it every day or so. Hi Adam,
I first took notice of you when Casey read your ldd back in July.
I also had my personal charts between late 1986 and 1999. First there were only 15 positions. Soon it had grown up to a weekly top 40 chart that comprised the best European and American music at the time. Between 1987 and 1989 I even made live countdowns, especially of the calender year's top 40 songs. I liked these New Year's Eves.
Starting in 1989 I switched over to only American hits as I had a Billboard subscription for 10 years and did not like European music that much anymore. I finally ended up copying the songs of the Top 40 Mainstream Chart.
I also made a complex calculation of the top hits between late 1986 and 1999 which I call my own radio era.
It was great fun!

Ah, I see I'm not the only one who kept my own chart! I did my own weekly Top 25 Hits Countdown from 1987-1994. I used to post a copy on the front of my locker in high school, as if anybody else cared.  |
