I've seen a lot of posts recently about the Snuggles LDD. This reminds me of a couple of things. First, this is about the outtakes where Casey messes up the call names & the slogans. Were those recorded the same year as the Snuggles fiasco (1985)? Lastly, this is about the intro to the Negativland song where Casey gets angry over U2. What year was that outtake recorded?

I'm guessing that the U2 outburst was in late 1984, as that's when they first hit the top 40 with "Pride (In the Name of Love)", and since they were brand new to the countdown I guess Casey didn't anticipate they'd be as popular and durable as they have turned out to be. They next hit in 1987 with the #1 "With or Without You", and by then they were omnipresent enough so that he couldn't say "Nobody cares!", or get their country of origin wrong ("these guys are from England and who gives a s***!") ;D.
