Once Casey Kasem did his final editions of "AT10" & "AT20" last month,we no longer heard his son Mike announce the optional extras on both "AT40-The 70's" & "AT40-The 80's"-It doesn't make sense that Premiere let Mike go-He's a good air personality-Larry Morgan, who succeeded Mike, isn't all that great-He's rather blah-I'd be curious to hear how some of you posters feel about this.

I enjoyed hearing Mike too. He will be missed. Still listen to AT40: The '70s and The '80s but it's not much the same.

Not only that, but we don't even hear Casey's ads for Petsmart and other things. At least with SXM we still hear Casey doing intros and promos.
Family ties aside, I think Mike Kasem brings a definite interest and enthusiasm to his work which was audible on both his spots in the AT40 rebroadcasts, as well as when he filled in on AT 20 and 10. There's nothing wrong with Larry Morgan per se, but his announcements feel generic (more so because he doesn't identify himself; I only know his identity because others on this board figured it out.) Currently his parts on AT40-70s and 80s sound as if he's just reading off a page without much special dedication to the subject, which was certainly not the case with Mike Kasem or Ed McMann.
