As you know, the 40th anniversary of Woodstock is just days away. And we'll likely see and hear more as the anniversary approaches.
And here's one bit of related trivia that I recently discovered. Woodstock's 3LP movie soundtrack was in its 6th week on Billboard's Top 200 LP chart when it climbed into the #1 position. The date of that chart? It was July 11, 1970. Unfortunately, for AT40's first show, no reference was made to the #1 LP.

Thanks,Pete-I believe either VH-1 or VH-1 Classic is scheduled to air the 1970 documentary "Woodstock" this week-I'm not sure what day it's going to be on.

I used to have a VHS copy of the documentary. If you've seen the movie, you know that a good part of the film was produced with a split screen. It was a unique procedure that allowed you to simultaneously experience any combination of two events, interviews, performances, etc. However, the video tape wasn't mass-produced to fit within TV screen dimensions, and it cut out 90% of one side of the split screen. I would expect VH-1 to address that and run it in a letterbox format. While it's great that VH-1 will air it, I'm sure it'll be edited *and* loaded with commercial stopsets.

It's my understanding that "Woodstock" was just reissued on DVD,which includes segments from artists that didn't appear in the original 1970 release such as Mountain,The Grateful Dead,& Melanie-Her debut release "Lay Down (Candles In The Rain") was inspired by the festival.
