I've been listening to the SXM AT40 70's and 80's for quite a while, but I'd would like to catch the terrestrial versions from Premiere on the weekends. I've seen on nenad's site the list of streams and times available, but I was wondering if someone could tell me if any of these stream in a higher quality, somewhere around 120k? The SXM stream now is finally a decent quality, but if any of these other stations stream in high-ish quality (for recording) I might just dump SXM. So my basic question is this: what are your favorite stations for streaming?

As far as the Bitrate is concerned, WODS-FM in Boston, which runs the '70s show, provides 128 kbps stream (as indicated on winamp player). WORC-FM in Webster, MA, another 70s show affilaite, provides a good 74 kbps stream. citadelcc-worc-fm.wm.llnwd.net/citadelcc_worc_fmAs for the '80s, I love WTIC-FM in Hartford. While its stream is 64 kbps, I think that their sound is quite natural.

KFRC True Oldies out of San Francisco (kfrc.com) has a crystal-clear sound when heard online. They carry the '70s version of AT40 on Sunday mornings at 8 am (Pacific time).

So my basic question is this: what are your favorite stations for streaming? I agree with several of the recommendations - especially KFRC - they always have sounded great online. I'm one of those strange people who has time on their hands in the winter - I don't work - so I have lots of time to check out all the various streaming AT 40 sites. Based on what I hear (not so much the bitrate), these stations sound the best, especially on playback: 70s shows: WOGL WBBG (sounds great) WRBQ (plays optional extras, and I think has the best sound overall) KLTH KKLZ WHVE (sometimes the audio streaming stops for no reason) 80s shows: WNTR WMJJ WQSR WTIC These stations are not bad either, but not as good as the above list - 70s shows: WLIF KQLL KUUL WCFR WODS 80s shows: KQLL WMMX WFKL KMMX WMGA WCFR (plays immediately after the 70s show on Sundays) And a lot of these stations repeat the shows several times over the weekend, in case you missed part or all of a show. And like I said, just my humble opinion.... Of course, not all these stations play the optional extras, and some are better at not cutting the show off, or cutting off parts of songs or Casey.

I go with KQLL. They have a high-quality stream and are pretty consistent. I gripe about them from time to time, but I've tried others with mixed results.

I normally listen to the 80's show on WQSR because their on-line stream is great.

Thank you everyone for all your great advice! I'm still keeping SXM for now (it still sounds best), but I'll stream some terrestrial shows, too, and record four shows per weekend:
Central Time:
Saturday 70's WRBQ 7-10 70's SXM 11-2
Sunday 80's SXM 6-9:15 (or more like 8:50 lately) 80's WQSR 7-11p
This should work out OK. Thanks again! By the way, KFRC sounds great, but nenad shows their only show on Wednesday mornings! Is that right?
