Starting tomorrow (7/12),WTIC-FM in Hartford,CT will be carrying "AT40-The 80's" from 8 AM-12 PM-It's good to know that the program is finally coming to Connecticut radio since its launch in the spring of 2007.

Jones, Program Director of WTIC, wrote to me that he is "a huge fan of Casey and decided to keep him on the air!" (As you will probably know, WTIC has aired Casey's AT20 until last week on Sunday at 9AM .)

"AT40-The 80's" is part of WTIC-FM's "Wayback Weekend",which features all the big hits from that decade.

WDRC in Connecticut aired AT40 back in both the 70s and 80s until 1986 when the station became an oldies station and it is still is to this day.

DRC-FM could air "AT40-The 70's"-However,that decision would be up to program director Grahame Winters.

Casey's been on WTIC weekly since the dawn of Casey's Top 40 over two decades ago, so it makes sense that the 80's show will now air. I did notice, though, that the first week's show was a week behind Premiere's schedule. I hope that's not a trend.
By the way, WTIC no longer does the Wayback Weekend, except for long holiday weekends.

REDSOX & MRJUKEBOX: Count me in that I listened to AT40 on WDRC too from since 1971. They would put it on Sunday's at 8:00 PM and after 10/1978 it was on at 7 PM. When the show was simulcasted the FM side would play "Stairway To Heaven" by Led Zeppelin 10 minutes before the show and then an instrumental jam from "All Things Must Pass" LP by George Harrison. Then when the AM side would finish playing a short record they will patch into the FM side and hit the ID of "WDRC AM and FM-stereo Hartford, Connecticut" and the start of American Top 40. This was carried until 1981 (or so). www.wdrcobg.com/history70s.html

Pandy, the name of the DRC-FM air personality that used to conclude his show with "Stairway To Heaven" was the late Judd Otis.

Mr. Otis is fondly remembered in Tampa (by me, anyway) as half of W101 (now WMTX FM)'s "Bob and Judd" morning show back in the 1980's up until 1996 I believe. Bob DeCarlo was the other half. RIP to Judd.
