There's been a long distance dedication again this week on AT20 by a woman from New Jersey ("Don't You Forget About Me" by Simple Minds) and Casey has sounded as great as ever on it I just heard the dedication on the stream from 106.9KZY. What made me sad was the part where she asked Casey to please forward the response from her long lost love to her, in the knowledge that the entire operation officially closes their doors next weekend. I was always touched when they asked Casey (or Deliliah for that matter) to forward the response thinking about how special it would be if the person in question was actually tuned in at that very moment.

I realize the same thing when hearing it. Moreover, if you listen carefully you will realize that Casey provides no contact address anymore (for the obvious reasons) after outroing this week's LDD and, in a similar vein, there's neither address nor e-mail provided by him at the end of the show and of course no him saying "if you have a question or a long distance dedication you can write to us at..." at the end of the show.
By the way, have you noticed that P.O.Box has changed several weeks ago before the shows were announced to end, from P.O. Box 2000 to P.O.Box 1988?

By the way, have you noticed that P.O.Box has changed several weeks ago before the shows were announced to end, from P.O. Box 2000 to P.O.Box 1988? Actually, it changed from P.O. Box 1110 (same as in the Casey1110 email address) to 1988. P.O. Box 2000, was the "Classic AT40" box, which shifted to the "World Chart Show" when Shadoe's AT40 ended in early 1995.

Ooops, you're absolutely right on that I just had too many AT40 memories on my mind...

[Actually, it changed from P.O. Box 1110 (same as in the Casey1110 email address) to 1988. P.O. Box 2000, was the "Classic AT40" box, which shifted to the "World Chart Show" when Shadoe's AT40 ended in early 1995. For those who don't understand the significance of Box 1110, that number correlates to the frequency of legendary Los Angeles hit music station KRLA 1110 AM, where Casey jocked during the mid to late 1960s. It was the last stop on a success daily radio broadcast career that took him from Detroit, to San Francisco's KEWB and finally to KRLA. It was at KEWB one day, that he found a book called Who's Who in Pop Music on the top of a garbage pile just outside the studio. After rescuing the book, he began to integrate the stories from the book, into his show, thus becoming the signature teasers which would serve him throughout the rest of his career on his daily shows and eventually on to AT40, CT40 AT20 and AT10.

Just a sheer speculation, but any ideas why did they change the P.O.Box number from 1110 to 1988 just several weeks ago? Someobody just forgot to renew the old one or - you know what 1988 a year it was...

A listener from MA called Adam posted the final LDD (between numbers 6 and 5).
It is one of the show's features that Scott posted about that make this special show worth listening to it.
