The final edition of "AT10" this weekend (7/4 & 7/5) spotlights superstars of the past 40 years-This is truly the end of an era-As Carly Simon observed many years ago:"Nobody Does It Better"-That certainly applies to Casey.

And it really was a great celebration of what Casey's done and the music and artists of the past 40 years, full of stats and trivia. Definitely the one for the history books and to be listened to over and over again. Excellent and touching! It was honor for me to have a chance to live at these times and listen and was lucky growing up with him on the radio.
... and also enjoyed his final lookback at "40 years ago this week back in 1969 the #1 song in the U.S.A. was... we're on our way to the answer and the countdown rolls on." Also you might have noticed that when introing Faith Hill's "This Kiss" in the first segment of the show, Casey said 'one of my favorites' - something he didn't too often.
However, as Elton John sang at the beginning of the last segment of the show Casey well could say: I'm just moving on but "I'm still standing"...

I havent listened to the whole show yet, I *hope* I recorded it but havent been able to check. I DID however, hear the last hour, as I was coming home from NYC an was able to pick DC's WASH fm from Baltimore an listened from that point on. Even recorded the last 40 mins on my walkman while driving. The send off at the end was definitly unique. Something he's never done before. He was definitly saying g'bye an was a bit depressing, but also nice at the same time.
I havent listened to AT20 yet either, but I do know that I DID record all of that show.

In my opinion,Casey was outstanding-The final LDD was appropriate-What a way to wrap up 39 years on the air!

Our AT10 affiliate here in Detroit, WNIC-FM did not air the final American Top 10 show, instead they aired the AT10 show from last week, and I missed the history making last AT10 show with Casey Kasem. I am very disappointed that WNIC chose to air last week's AT10 show instead of this weekend's show. They should show some respect to the man who was a pioneer of counting down the hits for the past 39 years. Hopefully, I will get to listen to the last AT10 show at some point in the future.
