I haven't listened to WLNG in ages but I love that station and the variety they have. The only downside is that they play a lot of commercials during the day; they would play a song and then have five minutes of commercials. I'm assuming that that's only on the online version of the station. Nope, most of their ads are local-Lawn Guyland, and they go out on the stream. There are other national spots, and the CNN Network newscast at the top-of-the-hour, which don't [not cleared by the union]...they're covered up with -- surprise! -- more music!

Was over browsing www.xmfan.com, when I saw a message about www.radioio.com. Had not checked out that site yet. I saw they had a free subscription level, so I signed up. The audio sounds great through my speakers. Listened close to an hour, switched between many stations. I liked the variety they played. Host Eddie George only announced who he was and didn't talk over the start of the songs. This is what I want Sirius/XM to be like. If radioio played American Top 40, I'd drop XM in a second. Ultimately, I may purchase an annual subscription to get a better streaming rate and lose the few ads they play. I recorded a few songs from the site and the wav files sounded good.

There are quite of few of us who do enjoy Radioio--if interested in getting them to broadcast AT40, contact the people in charge and let them know. The more interest, the better the chance that they might do so. I don't think they would have any reason to cut out jingles etc like SXM.
For whatever it's worth, I have recorded Radioio for my Mp3 player and insert an AT40 show in the middle--great sound.

Got home from work tonight and there was an email from Radioio waiting for me. It was a welcome letter from Michael Roe, the founder of Radioio. In the letter he said:
"Feel free to write me directly, at any time, with any comments or suggestions you might have. Since radioio's inception we have worked, and continue to work, to create for you a one of a kind experience - just for you. This is your service. And if at any time we do not meet your expectations (and when we exceed them) I would like to know about it. It is through your input that we can work to make radioio all that you want it to be, and all that it can be."
So I took him up on his offer to contact him and wrote back asking about playing American Top 40 - The Seventies and Eighties. I look forward to Michael's reply.

Here's a station if you're into 80s music: www.star1079.com/You can either play it on their website or through WinAmp, Windows Media Player or RealPlayer. I've heard many songs on this station that I've never heard before, so I would say they have a lot of variety.

Don,
Did you ever hear back from Radioio about the possibility of playing American Top 40?

So I wrote Michael Roe back and got this reply:
I have passed this on to Michael for his response to you.

Unfortunately, I didn't get anymore emails from radioio. Guess it is time to write them again.

Here is the reply I got today:
I have passed this on to the product team. It is their decision on what is brought on line. If they make a decision you will see it on line. I know they have several projects working but not sure what they are,
