Is it just me, or did Kenny G records just sound way, way, way out of place on AT40, especially in the Shadoe years?
Kenny G is cool, of course, but it really sounded weird to hear his records on Shadoe's show alongside Def Leppard or New Kids On The Block. I know top 40 playlists had more variety back then, but still it sounded weird.
I remember Shadoe (or maybe it was Casey) telling the story of how Kenny G went to a really, really, really rough high school. I remember thinking, how rough could a high school in Seattle in the early '70s possibly be compared to my high school in the late '80s?

A beating is a beating in any decade. I think it's great that top 40 stations would still play records that weren't rap or metal mixed in with everything else it was cool to hear a saxophone ballad follwed by Guns N Roses. That was just the way it was, and we liked it!
