Nick Cannon guest hosted the show this week, and I must say I thought it was awful. I found myself wanting to turn the dial several times. He wasn't funny (no matter how much the staff was laughing), he wasn't insightful, he was just annoying and grating. I admit, I do not like stars guest hosting shows anyway but he was extremely awful I thought.
What did everyone else think?

I thought Nick provided some laughs but was somewhat overbearing. And his constant cracks about Ryan's absence ("he had a tanning appointment!" "he's getting a facial!") got old, and weren't even original; a few months ago Brody Jenner (of "The Hills") filled in and said much the same stuff. (Perhaps in a good-humored response, Ryan ran the "Brody Jenner blooper reel" when he returned, which was funnier than anything Brody, or for that matter Nick, said.) ;D As far as the staff laughing, I think that's OK on Ryan's regular On-Air show but has annoyed me on AT40; it was never before part of the show and doesn't seem appropriate to a countdown (for example, we never to my knowledge heard Casey Kasem and Don Bustany yukking it up on air.) Personally, I'd like to hear Mike Kasem fill in for Ryan sometime, since he does such a good job subbing on AT20 and AT10. But he might not fit the current AT40 format--he'd probably stay on topic and talk mostly about the music.

You know, I was just flashing back to two years ago this weekend just because and this is what I found. Yeah, there were a few "haters" about his DJ-air personality skills, but some of you have already gotten the last laugh. At the moment he's hosting his own countdown show. I've heard the Urban version and it's entertaining definitely worth listening. The only complaint that I have is that it's only a top 20 but for pop it's a top 30. What's up with that?!

Co hosts with Selena, I think. I dont like when celebrities and wannabes host that kind of shows. Why dont they look for a decent and professional broadcaster?.

Yeah, that'll be nice, but the reality is that it may not interest current listeners. Nowadays, sadly, this program is pretty much all about Hollywood and not the hits. Yeah, Hollywood is where it's at my friend, with all the latest news and you got it, gossip. And if the host wants to take a holiday he's got to get a "hot" co-host to temporarily fill his position. At this moment Selena Gomez is one of our rising stars. So there you go....

Where is Nick ?. I only hear Selena hosting, maybe in another part of the show, in both versions.
