Do you remember how many instrumentals charted during the CT40 era of the countdown?
And what was the highest charting instrumental during that era?
I know even the first CT40 show had Kenny G's "Silhouette" tumbling down the countdown...

Here's what I could find:
Dave Stewart/Candy Dulfer - Lily Was Here (1991): 37-29-23-19-14-12-12-17-32 Kenny G - Forever In Love (1993): 34-28-24-19-14-12-10-9-14-17-30-33 Adam Clayton & Larry Mullen - Mission Impossible Theme (1996): 26-22-16-13-12-11-12-21-38 Robert Miles - Children (1996): 32-28-24-23-22-21-19-18-17-18-19-24-30-39
Interestingly enough, the last 2 of those debuted the same week! Is that the only time that 2 instrumentals debuted in the top 40 the same week?

This was the second time that U2 contributed a song to a movie soundtrack-In 1995,their song "Hold Me Thrill Me Kill Me" was heard on the soundtrack of "Batman Forever".
