Who knows if it will ever happen.
I agree it would be a good idea to feature some of the more well-known personalities who hosted in Casey's absence. For instance, I'm sure many people out there remember the game show hosts who filled in for Casey (e.g., Wink Martindale, Dick Clark). It would also kind of be nice to hear the Don Bowman-hosted countdown; the anniversary of its original airing (June 16, 1973) is fast approaching, and to hear it would give some of us that don't have access to early "American Country Countdown" shows a chance to get an idea of what those Bowman-hosted shows were like.
I guess the ball is in Premiere's court; however, I would not hold my breath for this happening anytime soon.

I seriously doubt this will happen too-It's a shame because I enjoyed listening to the folks who filled in for Casey like the late Robert W.Morgan & Charlie Van Dyke.

Well, when XM used to broadcast COMPLETELY the programs i heard 5/26/84 hosted by Charlie Van Dyke. Also 08/13/83 Hosted by Keri Tombazian.

I think the only way to get Premiere to air "AT40" shows hosted by someone other than Casey Kasem - the show's title "Casey Kasem's 'American Top 40': The 70s/The 80s" regardless - is to write them and tell them so. If they hear enough from us, perhaps they would get the hint.

As some others have pointed out here, Premiere's current strategy seems to be to equate Casey Kasem with American Top 40, at least until he handed that mic to Ryan Seacrest. That meshes well with most people's images and memories, even if it ignores ten years (1988-98) of countdown history.
So I wouldn't expect them to run any shows hosted by Shadoe or anyone else, or "Casey's Top 40" for that matter (even though CT40 functionally was AT40 for many, especially as for nearly four years AT40 did not even exist in the U.S.) Maybe satellite or online?

Probably satellite radio would have the best chance of broadcasting Shadoe or CT40 since they seem to have more freedom than terrestrial, which Premiere seems to have on a shorter leash. After all, Shadoe worked with Sirius for a while before the merger and two of his guest hosts, Jay Thomas and Martha Quinn, are current DJs for SXM. So you may want to contact them and see if they will support a request to higher management at SXM for them to broadcast Shadoe AT40.
I don't know how successful this would be but with 80s not broadcasting Rick Dees any longer, Aug 13, 1988 to the end of 1989 are not represented. Shadoe would be a good replacement for that period. However, I've heard that Rick Stacy, the PD for 80s and 90s, once worked with Rick Dees so he may not want to to see Shadoe AT40 shows on the 90s and may still hope to see Rick Dees return on the 80s.
CT40 may be a bit more problematic, mainly because of the way Casey left Westwood One to restart AT40, although Premiere owns the rights to those shows as well. However, it shouldn't hurt to write to SXM and let them know you are interested.

I'd like to hear a few non casey shows myself. I have a couple charlie van dyke's and the dave roberts show from 1985. in my small program disc collection.
Got a couple CT40 shows from the company up here in canada who used to dub the vinyl to reel and edit the US spots out. They'd fed the show via satellite every thursday afternoon so station would tape the show, and run the tapes. I heard a few horror stories as to what they did with the discs after the fact.
