Voiceover superstar Brian James dies of an apparent heart attack
Former Clear Channel news/talk/sports executive Gabe Hobbs tells Radio-Info that “Brian was a true talent, and not as just some voice over guy – he did standup comedy as a hobby, and was a solid talkshow host.” But James made his living as one of the top-level voiceover talents, working from his studio in the Phoenix area. Hobbs says “his versatility in delivery style was unmatched, as well as his sense of imaging and production values.” James had done the customized daily news intros for Clear Channel’s WLW, Cincinnati for years, and had many radio station clients around the country. He had also been the voice of TV’s “EXTRA.” The tributes are already piling up on Brian James' own webpage. It’s believed he was in his late 40s.
