There was a report of companies in serious danger of going out of business. SiriusXM was one of them.

If their economic situation (and the economic situation as a whole) doesn't improve soon, there is a chance that Sirius XM could find itself bankrupt and having to close down. Many Sirius XM listeners predict this will happen while others think the company will survive. However, nobody knows for sure and Sirius XM has not said anything about this on either of their websites.

Guess I'll have to start figuring out other ways to get my Classic AT40 fix, since it is also no longer being carried on local terrestrial radio in my market.

Please don't jump to the conclusion that Sirius XM is going out of business. There are several scenarioes of what may result from their decision to file for Ch 11 Bankrupcy, including acquisition by another company, change in management, etc. If you're interested in hearing how other Sirius XM fans are reacting to the news, check www.xmfan.com or www.xm411.com (go to the forum "XM Discussion"). Also read the links that are given in previous emails, the one in IMQB is a very balanced report that looks at different scenarioes.

Caseyfan; The FMQB's latest articles referred to another possibility. According to it, Sirius XM is now in preliminary talks with Liberty Media, the owner of DirecTV. www.fmqb.com/Article.asp?id=1161098

While that's good for Sirius XM it also means we are stuck with the same bad management that will continue to butcher AT40 and cut the playlist. I was hoping that bankruptcy would force them to ditch Mel and John Zellner, the two who are responsible for all the problems the wrongly merged company is facing now.
