It looks like the economy is having an adverse effect on the radio business-Clear Channel has announced that layoffs are forthcoming-I think I heard the number to be somewhere around 2800-Stay tuned for further details.

The number of employees who are scheduled to be laid off by Clear Channel is 1,850.

I don't think the economy is the only factor. It certainly is one, but not the whole picture. I'd also factor in mis-management from the CEOs on down. And radio as a whole is suffering (largely because of Clear Channel).
