Hello all of you!
I'm Alexander Tsesarskiy, member of non-commercial and non-official Russian fun-club of KYOI.
AM Radiostation KHBI on Saipan island , originally KYOI Super Rock, was built in 1981 to broadcast commercial R&R format to Japan. The programme consisted of continuous top 40 / rock music controlled primarily by a computer audio sequencing system, with automated song title and station ID announcements inserted as required. The programming was produced by Drake-Chenault. Station transferred good music in 1982-1988 and heard not in Japan only, but either in other countries, ie in Russia. All songs and promos in 1982-1985 were voiced by Doug Floedine (Flodin? Flodeen?). Unfortunantely, just 3 references are available in www: one from australian KYOI-fan Kelvin Melen (http://kyoi.zcm.com.au) the second from 440.com and the third from Sten Davis biograpgy: " "... working with such talents as the late Doug Flodin, the original voice of Drake-Chenault's XT-40 format".
We would like to know more abt our favorite voice. Pls reply someone who knows anything abt Doug? Also abt KYOI. We are looking for any information to save a piece of good history.
