Attention, moviegoers:"Cadillac Records" is opening this weekend at your local multiplex-The movie chronicles the history of Chess Records, which was based in Chicago-Brothers Leonard & Marshall Chess founded the label in the 1950's-Among the artists signed to the label were Chuck Berry, who is portrayed in the movie by rapper Mos Def & Etta James, who is played by Beyonce-Sounds like a good flick.

Some of the other artists signed to the Chess label were Muddy Waters (Mc Kinley Morganfield),"Howlin' Wolf" (Chester Burnett) & Willie Dixon-These last three artists had an impact on later bands who incorporated the blues as part of their act-I'm referring to the Rolling Stones & Led Zeppelin.

The Rolling Stones took their name from a Muddy Waters composition "Rollin' Stone"-If I'm not mistaken, the Stones recorded some of their early hits at the Chess studios in Chicago.Willie Dixon not only influenced Led Zeppelin, but the Doors,as well-The Doors recorded Willie's classic "Back Door Man"-It appeared on either their first or second album.
