Now that Christmas is almost upon us,will most of the stations that carry "AT40-The 70's" &"AT40-The 80's" go into the holiday music full or part time?-If that's the case,I'll have to listen to the vintage broadcasts on XM.

Unfortunately WMJJ started their Christmas music full time yesterday morning. They have been airing the 70's shows for a while now on Saturday and Sunday. They just recently about 2 or 3 weeks ago started the 80's shows on Sundays. Fortunately there's XM!

What time (EST) did WMJJ air "AT40: The '80's"?
As for Christmas music, I like Christmas music don't get me wrong but it's way too early. Wait until the day after Thanksgiving for goodness sakes.

I believe it AT40: The 80's started at either 10:00 or 11:00 (EST). I agree that the Christmas music is a bit early! The radio station did an online poll on when to start the Christmas music, and the first part of November won the vote. I do remember that last year they aired a Casey Kasem Christmas program last year, so maybe they'll start doing that when we get closer to the holidays.

I'd like to hear the 1973 Christmas show, too, as part of the "AT40: The 70s" package. Even for those affiliates who air just the "AT40: The 80s" progam should be offered this particular program to air on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day.

Q105 in Tampa (wrbq.fm) only does all Christmas music on December 24 and 25. However, they run AT40 the 70's at 8:00 AM on Sundays and have skipped some songs the last 2 weeks (at least I think they skipped some this week; I thought I turned it on shortly after 8 and they were already playing "Our House" at #34. Last week they skipped #13 thru #9 and then played the next segment twice).

Q105 started the show earlier this week (according to yes.com, they played #38 "For The Good Times" at 7:39 am). There's nothing listed before that for the previous hour and a half, so either they skipped the first two songs or they started at 7:30 and the log is incomplete.

I'm new to the board, but have been reading it for some time. I hope that those of you who listen to the stations that broadcast AT40: The 70s and AT40: The 80s would let those of us who have access to it only by streaming to kindly let us know if you hear of the AT40 Christmas specials being broadcast. Thanks to all of you for keeping us up to date.

Welcome to the board-FYI:Casey did two Christmas specials in the early years of "American Top 40"-The first one was heard in December 1971-An updated Christmas countdown was heard two years later in 1973-Hopefully,Premiere will air one of them next month.

sounds like Q105 is run by idiots. Nah... at least not until recently, when CBS Radio instituted some major budgetary cutbacks.

Although it wasn't a "Christmas special," Casey did a show in December 1978 in which a lot of Christmas songs were played as extras throughout the countdown.
