I am brand new to these boards. And what a great idea. I always figured I was just weird for always keeping track of the AT40 charts...
Is there a site somewhere that has a week-by-week collection of the Billboard charts of the past. Really only the Top 40 would be great, but the Hot 100 would be ideal.
I've found some, but nowhere that each week is offered. I'm a charthound and would LOVE to get my hands on this information. Apart from my yellowing copies of Billboards from the early 80s, I don't have much to go on (except my personal charts I kept)
There might be a thread about this, but I couldn't really find one. Any help would be appreciated.

And of course, you can purchase the Hot 100 chart books at www.recordresearch.com (the 1960s edition has just been released on DVD-ROM as well).

Although mostly in Japanese and written in what looks like pure HTML in notepad, this site (referenced above by jdelachjr2002) has a great feature in that you can click on a year and see all of the songs which charted that year in alphabetical order. www.asahi-net.or.jp/~TF1K-MCD/ What will also be cool is when Joel Whitburn gets all of his decade books on DVD-ROM. He's apparently got the 60s and 70s done. Can't wait for the 80s. Someone needs to throw all of this in a Microsoft Access database with some cool search forms.
