Hello out there: Based on XM's website, it looks like XM radio is doing its annual “IT” marathon in October and it seem to have the best collection of songs ever played on the radio. It seems to run for a straight month and plays nearly every Billboard Top 40 hit from the 1930’s to present. What is your input on this and has anybody recorded it? Thank you for the superfan!!! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Here is the complete play list for "IT" 1930-2007. www.xmradio.com/pdf/2007_IT_Song_List.pdfen.wikipedia.org/wiki/IT_%28XM%29

I checked the XM website and saw nothing about a broadcast of IT this year. The information concerns last years broadcast most of which I recorded. I'll keep checking and see what I can find, however, and let you know if in fact there is going to be an "IT 2008"
"IT" is the History of Pop Music from the 1930s to today. Before the show begins, there is often a "pre-IT" special covering the pop music of the 1920s on 40s on 4. "IT" broadcasts for 6 weeks and includes a huge number of songs, although my friends and I found that the 80s omitted lots of songs that were in the Top 40 and that disappointed us somewhat. Just keep in mind that the PDs of the individual channels have lots of say what is played and if there are songs they don't like, they may not be included. On the other hand, they will play songs from below the Top 40 that they do like. The 60s were the most complete overall.

Now that they have done this for several years, is anyone in the same boat as me in thinking they should do it every 3-5 years?

I think "IT" is very cool radio, and I'd love to hear it on Sirius / XM. Hopefully it's still a possibility following the merger.

Hi all-
I'm a new member of this board, and I came across it while I was doing a search for XM Radio's "IT: History Of Pop Music". I've got a question for anyone reading this...back in 2007, I tried to record the entire broadcast of XM's "IT" program (2007 was the last year they aired it). All 840+ hours of it. Unfortunately, there were some problems with the recording software I was using (I was recording it online, not on an XM receiver, or from TV) and it turns out that while I have MOST of the program, there are some gaps in my recording collection (spread throughout the 1920s to 2007 playlists, but mostly from 1994-2007). Is there anyone else out there that recorded part or all of "IT"? I am desperately trying to complete my collection of the broadcast as best I can, and I would be willing to trade (or pay for CD/DVD copies) with anyone willing to share. My e-mail address is wamboyil@sbcglobal.net, and I can provide anyone with a more detailed list of what segments of the program I am looking for.
Thanks in advance! Walt
