First, I hope I haven't raised any expectations that such a countdown has ever been done by Casey, but...

Speaking about Aussies under the Top 40 British Hits of the 80's thread, can anyone compile a list of the Top 40 (or whatever the number would be) Australian Hits of the 80's?

I hope I didn't miss any important ones! I have a feeling that if this show actually existed, one of the lower 2 songs (as both are obscure) would've been replaced by either Midnight Oil's "Beds Are Burning", or AC/DC's "Back In Black" or "You Shook Me All Night Long", as all of those get more airplay today than "Human Touch" or "Suddenly".

Thanks for the list. It seems clear that very likely such a countdown would never be done because it would sound rather monothematic, I mean just a couple of artists played all over again. But anyway, interesting.

I think that both AC/DC songs and the Midnight Oil song would be used because, besides the two songs at #39 and #40, "Magic" by ONJ would be eliminated as well.
