I logged on to allaccess.com today to discover Ryan Seacrest's morning show is now syndicated, and one of those markets is in Jacksonville. I was in even more shock to discover when I went to the webpage of the affiliate, they now air American Top 40 also. The station is 97.9 Kiss FM.
I am amazed at this because for as long as I can remember, all the way back to my earliest memories of top 40 listening, WAPE (the other, most well known CHR station in town) has had the flagship Casey Kasem show. Now, according to their site, they have nothing unless one of those names listed is a national countdown host and I don't recognize it.
I guess all things must come to an end, but this is one I wasn't expecting. I guess Jacksonville had to give me one more shock before I move away from here next month.
