I don't know if this part had ever been discussed on the board and if it has I apologize (I'm a newbie here) but I read that this was the day 34 years ago that the AT40 staff had somehow whipped up their own Top 40 list because Casey Kasem was going to Hawaii to film "Hawaii Five-0" and apparently Billboard's rankings weren't going to arrive by the time Casey was to leave so the staff basically had to pull their own guessing game as to which songs would make that week's Top 40 and which positions would those songs be. Here's the playlist for that week:
