AMANDA OVERMYER TO WED ROB DURKEE
MULBERRY, INDIANA, APRIL 1, 2008 (AP) -- The publicity department for Amanda Overmyer is proud to announce that the American Idol singer is engaged to marry Rob Durkee of North Hollywood, California. Rob oversees the Adult Contemporary and Classic Hits (a/k/a Oldies) formats for the radio airplay company, Mediabase 24/7. Amanda and Rob have been secretly dating for several months and plan a June, 2009, wedding.
"Any woman who can sing like Janis Joplin is my kind of woman," said an obviously elated Durkee, "and we have so much in common."
For instance, when asked what's her favorite baseball team, Amanda yelled out, "The Cleeeeeeeeeeveland Indians!".
Her favorite singer of all time?
"Elvis Presley!"
And what really sold Rob on Amanda was when he found out that her favorite all-time song is "My Name Is Larry" by Wild Man Fischer.
