Possibly buying a Mac in a month or two

Hey guys,

It appears that I will be buying a Mac Book in the next month or so after I get my financial aid refund and tax return. Is there a certain audio recording software you Mac users use to record radio shows? Maybe I will finally be able to start doing that again.

Can you set up timed recordings with stream links like a VCR or Totalrecorder which is what I used on PC for 5 years?
