The late Gary Wright's "Dream Weaver" got more notable in the 1992 "Wayne's World" movie.

In the spring of 2015,I was fortunate to see Gary Wright being interviewed at the NY Fest for Beatle Fans-He was promoting his autobiography which had just been released-He discussed his friendship with George Harrison & how he wound up playing on George's first post Beatles solo album "All Things Must Pass" which was released at the end of 1970-Sorry to hear about Gary's untimely passing.

My favorite is a #2-song from the album "The Dream Weaver", but it isn´t the title song. It´s "Love Is Alive".
R.I.P.

Released as the first single from the LP in '75, didn't chart, then re-released after "Dream Weaver" in '76 and followed the title track to #2 on the Hot 100 that summer. "Love Is Alive" bested "Dream Weaver" in chart longevity--27 weeks vs 20.

Reminds a bit of the "fate" of "I'm So Excited" and "You Can Call Me Al," although the former reached the Top 40 on both attempts and the latter on the second.

Billy Joel's "Movin' Out (Anthony's Song)" is another member of this 'club'. It was the first single released from "the Stranger" in '77, didn't chart, and like "Love Is Alive", was released as a single a second time after the 2nd single release "Just the Way You Are" became a hit.

Interesting thing about Dream Weaver is that it reached #1 on every national chart except (you guessed it) Billboard. Gary Wright was into yoga and the song was inspired by some meditation practices and here I always thought the song was a tribute to the Sandman.
Although I like Love Is Alive better and enjoy his other Top 20 hit, Really Wanna Know You.

For me, it was 1990 and I was listening to 3rd Bass. Their song, "Wordz of Wisdom" sampled "Love Is Alive". I did a little research back then to find out what the sample was. I listened to "Alive" and was hooked on Wright. Amazing talent. RIP

Other than February 1959, that is, with the Big Bopper barely qualifying with a #38 hit. Cassie Gaines was not an official Lynyrd Skynyrd band member, based on what I see online.
