Rest in peace.
And this is terrible, but am I the only one thinking of The Sinatra Group more than anything?

I'm thinking of the Pope's picture mostly, but Phil Hartman (as Sinatra) calling Jan Hooks (as Sinead) "Sine-Aid O'Connor" did pop into my head before reading your post.

A controversial, troubled life...and one monster, emotional hit song. There is a real extensive look at O’Connor career, vis-a-vis “Nothing Compares to You”, in Billboard’s Chart Beat series “Forever No. 1” that pays tribute to the recently deceased acts. The latest in the series updated today is devoted to her NCTY. www.billboard.com/music/chart-beat/sinead-oconnor-nothing-compares-2-u-number-one-only-hit-1235380274/This article talks about Prince’s estate blocking the use of the No. 1 song for the 2022 95min documentary film “Nothing Compares”. The film will air tomorrow Friday at 4pm eastern on Showtime as a last minute replacement according to SHOWTIME site. BTW: Not related in another Chart Beat item, Billboard has a look at the very first sales chart of recorded songs on this date (July 27) 83 years ago.

Sadly, I do remember laughing at "cueball in the side pocket". That song is truly a wonderful moment in time. Sometimes with pop music, lightning strikes and "Nothing Compares 2U" was one of those moments. It was the song of the spring of 1990 for those of us alive to experience it. Thanks, Sinead, for being an inextricable part of my world during that time. Rest in peace.
