While listening to this week's 1978 countdown, it occurred to me that the group Eruption shares a name with the famous Van Halen instrumental. The band Chicago shares a name with a Top 40 hit by Graham Nash in 1971. What other examples can you think of where an act and an unrelated song have the same name? (This obviously leaves out self-naming songs like "Stray Cat Strut" and "Who are You.")

In 1992, Linear's song "T.L.C." was in the Top 40 at the same time as two hits by the group TLC ("Ain't 2 Proud 2 Beg" and "Baby-Baby-Baby").

Going back a ways, The Canadian group The Bells ("Stay Awhile", 1971) shares the name of The Originals' second and last top 40 single from the previous year.
